Governance Assessment

We recommend that organisations review their governance once per year, in the same way they might conduct a staff survey or whole-org retrospective. Doing so supports organisations to think deeply about governance, taking the time to consider the extent to which (1) the conditions of good governance are present and (2) good governance is demonstrated in practice.

While there are many ways to approach this, we recommend most organisations:

  • Survey those involved in governance (board members, executive staff and those involved in board administration)

  • Make time during a governance meeting to reflect on the results of the survey, identifying what’s going well, what could be improved and next steps

If you’d like running a Governance Assessment, let us know! We can work with you to deliver the survey and facilitate a workshop reflecting on results.

If you’d like to run the whole thing yourself, you can fill in the form below to access our survey template and get started.
